expanded clay pellets for sale

Most hydro stores have expanded clay pellets for sale. You can also check Home Depot, Lowes and Dixieline, but I have found that these types of stores do not always have them in stock. Check your local store for availability. At the very least, they can easily be ordered and picked up usually within a day or two. If you are in a crunch and need them immediately, I would definitely recommend visiting your local hydro store. Most hydro stores usually carry a 50 liter bag. However, a downfall to purchasing locally is the selection.

I have found that amazon has a much better selection to choose from and their prices are competitive. For small grows, Amazon has a 2 pound bag of organic expanded clay pellets for sale! They have tons of bag sizes depending on your needs. This is great because a lot of growers definitely don’t need a 50 liter bag. They also have all the major brands: Mother Earth, Hydrofarm and Hydro Crunch.

Growing Plants in Clay Pebbles

Expanded clay pellets are an amazing soil addictive. Honestly, they are my favorite! I love growing with expanded clay pellets because they work great. They are clean, stable, easy to use and can be reused time after time. They also are PH neutral and very stable. Furthermore, they improve aeration and drainage greatly, which also promotes root growth. You can use them for soil grows too. Mix them into your soil or apply as a top layer for evaporation protection. For evaporation protection, I recommend applying a layer of 1 to 2 inches on top of your soil. Make sure to sterilize your hydroton after purchasing to wash away any unwanted substances. It is also a good idea to sterilize after each grow cycle with hydrogen peroxide.
