Fox Farm Ocean Forest Potting Soil

Over the last decade I have tried a ton of different soils. After testing all the major soil brands, I came to the conclusion that one was better than the rest. So… I want to give a quick shoot out to Fox Farm. I have been using Fox Farm Ocean Forest Potting Soil exclusively for almost two years now. After thorough use, I can say with confidence that it is by far one of the best soils available for cannabis gardening. Ocean Forest has everything your plants need. It is packed with premium earthworm castings, bat guano, sea-going fish and crab meal. It also has a ton of aged forest products, like sandy loam and sphagnum peat moss. I love that the texture of Fox Farm Ocean Forest Potting Soil is light, aerated and drains nicely. I really like that Ocean Forest comes ready to use right out of the bag. It is pH adjusted between 6.3 and 6.8 for optimum fertilizer uptake, which is awesome!

I use Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting soil with all plants, even my clones. My plants thrive in this soil and grow at rapid pace. I have done side by side comparisons and this soil dominates almost every time.

Where can I buy Ocean Forest in San Diego? You can find it for sale at Dixieline and at most Hydro Stores. The most consistent price is at Dixieline for $18 a bag @ 1.5cu/ft. The cost varies based on location, but it is definitely worth it. Also available on Amazon here.

Side Note: In my opinion, the worst thing you can do is buy a cheap soil. It puts your grow at a severe disadvantage and your plants may never recover. Don’t waste your time and money with cheap soil! Besides, the extra $10 per bag is totally worth it. Fox Farm Ocean Forest paired with a proper container really enhances your chance for a successful harvest. Using cheap soils will almost always result in a weak harvest, so avoid them at all costs. I noticed that cheap soils often run hot and burned my plants. I also noticed more bug infestations (mainly Gnats) when using cheap potting soils. Get the good stuff and don’t think twice about it. Fox Farm makes growing way easier!
